We do not know if, as our Quebec friends think, Design will change the world, but
In any case, it contributes to its daily evolution. We have chosen to give a large place to the debates which took place in Montreal for this first World Design Summit.
The project was ambitious and had the merit of highlighting design in its multidisciplinary nature. The organizers brought together many witnesses to the changes underway. Some experiences proved particularly fascinating. The role of the designer is no longer to be the lone star, but rather the catalyst capable of understanding what is happening, uniting stakeholders, and bringing new projects to fruition.
He is the link. Let's bet that the experience will be repeated, because the subject is far from exhausted.
And to illustrate this rapid and profound change, what better way than to look at
a powerful symbol of our society: the car! It has illustrated the triumph of progress and growth and today it is particularly confronted with sociological changes. Should we rejoice? Should we regret it? In any case, we must not be Manichean. The car is
and remains a strong symbol of freedom. Let's avoid caricatures.
And our world tour continued, stopping in Sweden before returning to Paris to pay tribute to the recipient of the Liliane Bettencourt Foundation. A wonderful initiative that's a pleasure to support each year.
In short, this new model, which apparently meets your expectations and our ambitions, allows us to take a more eclectic look at design. It's evolving. So are we.
