40 YEARS OF ENSCi
The National School of Industrial Design has just celebrated its 40th anniversary.
For four decades, this French public design school,
has trained more than 1,500 designers.
Some have become international references, others have created design labs
within the companies they have joined.
Some, again, have opened design to new areas of investigation,
from the study of living ecosystems to public policies.
To mark this anniversary, ENSCi has decided to entrust Intramuros with the editing
of a work by accepting this bias
Highlight the school's pedagogy, so intrinsically linked to its DNA,
and focus on new territories
of design exploration that the school helps to bring out.
This is the logic of the first two parts.
(SCHOOL WITHIN SCHOOL – DOING: laboratory for the industry of tomorrow)
then the following parts
(LIVING WORLD – MOVING TERRITORIES – HUMAN BEING)
In an effort to convey the words of ENSCi stakeholders, the testimonies gathered
come from teachers, alumni, as well as partners.
A pillar of the school and mentor to many designers, Marc Berthier was one of the first to respond
to our questions. He left us at the beginning of November: this book is dedicated to him.
